T5 CABERNET SAUVIGNON
We invite you to indulge yourself with this very special bottling produced from the highest quality fruit grown on our estate—aged in the finest oak barrels crafted from France.
100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes were hand-picked from vineyards at the top of Wappo Hill adjacent to the Hartwell private residence. Blocks 14 & 15 were planted in the early 1990's using the original "Bosche Clone." The wine ages in our "T5" barrels for two years and is released one year after bottling.
The T5 barrel brings to the wine further dimensions of depth, density, and freshness and is recommended for wines of long aging. The world-renowned French cooperage house of Taransaud has taken the art of barrel making to the next level with the T5 designation barrique. Extremely rare and highly prized, the T5 barrique is sourced solely from trees planted in the Colbert Forest during the reign of Louis XIV. Only coopers who have been awarded the title of "Meilleur ouvrier de France" (Best Craftsman in France) are permitted to toast and assemble the five-year seasoned staves into the final masterpiece.
With only 100 six-bottle cases produced each year this wine is made, this extremely rare and exclusive Cabernet Sauvignon is only sold as a six-bottle allocation and as a "future." Once released, this select offering is sure to be a treasured part of any collector's cellar.
